Frequently Asked Questions
Who is Nova Fine Jewellery?
Nova Fine Jewellery is a UK-registered limited company (LTD) specialising in high-end and fine jewellery. Our creations combine Italian taste, European craftsmanship and a contemporary, digital-first approach. We design and produce engagement rings, bracelets, necklaces, earrings and one-of-a-kind high jewellery pieces, with a focus on quality, transparency and personalisation.
Where are your jewellery pieces made?
Our jewellery is designed and finished in collaboration with selected workshops and production partners in Europe. Each piece is carefully inspected before shipment to ensure it meets Nova Fine Jewellery standards for finishing, stone setting and overall quality.
Are your diamonds and gemstones natural or lab-grown?
By default, our creations feature high-quality CVD and HPHT diamonds and lab coloured gemstones such as rubies, sapphires and emeralds. Lab-grown stones have the same physical, chemical and optical properties as mined stones, but are created in a controlled environment, with full transparency and traceability.
For selected pieces or on bespoke request, we can also offer natural diamonds and natural coloured gemstones. If you are specifically interested in natural stones, please let us know during your enquiry and we will prepare a tailored proposal.
What does CVD / HPHT mean?
CVD (Chemical Vapor Deposition) and HPHT (High Pressure High Temperature) are two advanced technologies used to grow diamonds in the laboratory. Both methods produce real diamonds with the same crystal structure and brilliance as mined diamonds. The choice between CVD and HPHT depends on the type of stone and the characteristics required (colour, clarity, size).
Can I request natural stones instead of lab-grown?
Yes. Many designs can be produced either with lab-grown or natural diamonds and gemstones. Natural stones usually come at a different price point compared to lab-grown options. Simply mention your preference (lab-grown or natural, and approximate budget) when you contact us for a quotation and we will guide you through the options.
Do the diamonds and gemstones come with certificates?
Whenever applicable and depending on the carat weight and type of stone, our centre stones can be accompanied by a certificate from an internationally recognised gemmological laboratory (for example for larger diamonds). For pavé settings and small stones, we provide detailed specifications in the product description rather than individual certificates. For bespoke and high jewellery pieces, certification and documentation can be discussed as part of your project.
Why do carat weights sometimes vary?
Total carat weights indicated on the product page are approximate and can vary slightly depending on:
- the ring size or bracelet/necklace length you choose,
- any bespoke modifications you request,
- tolerances in gemstone cutting and setting.
Changes to the centre stone (different carat weight, stone type or quality) can affect the final price. Adjustments to pavé carat weight do not change the price, but the exact number and total weight of stones may vary to match the chosen size of the jewel.
Are your pieces ready to ship or made to order?
We offer both ready-to-ship jewellery and made-to-order creations.
- Ready-to-ship: pieces already produced and available in specific sizes and configurations, ideal if you need a jewel quickly.
- Made-to-order & bespoke: the jewel is produced especially for you, with your choice of size, metal colour and, where available, centre stone and carat weight.
For all fully bespoke or high jewellery projects, we will first discuss your ideas and then prepare sketches, technical details and a quotation.
Can I customise a design?
Yes, customisation is at the heart of Nova Fine Jewellery. Depending on the model, you can usually customise:
- the metal (18 kt white, yellow or rose gold);
- the centre stone (diamond, ruby, sapphire, emerald, lab-grown or natural);
- the carat weight of the centre stone;
- the ring size or bracelet/necklace length;
- details of the pavé or side stones.
For certain pieces, prices are shown as a guideline and a personalised quotation is provided for specific requests. You can use the “Request a bespoke quote” option on the product page or contact us directly.
How do I choose my ring size?
We work mainly with EU / Italian ring sizes. If you already know your size, simply select it from the menu on the product page. If you are unsure, we recommend:
- having your finger measured by a local jeweller, or
- using a ring that fits you well and comparing it to our size guide.
For bespoke or high jewellery pieces, we can assist you personally in finding the correct size.
In which currency are prices shown?
Unless otherwise indicated, prices on our website are shown in EUR (€). For certain markets or payment providers, you may see approximate conversions in other currencies, but the final charge will be processed in the currency displayed at checkout.
Do prices include taxes and duties?
Whether taxes (such as VAT) are included or added at checkout depends on your billing and shipping country. Any applicable taxes and, where relevant, import duties will be shown during the checkout process before you confirm your order. For high-value or international shipments, we are happy to help you understand the most suitable solution.
Which payment methods do you accept?
We accept secure online payments through the options available at checkout (for example card payments and authorised payment providers). For bespoke and high jewellery projects, bank transfer or staged payments may be available on request.
Where do you ship and how long does delivery take?
We ship primarily within Europe and can assist with selected international destinations. Delivery times depend on whether the piece is ready-to-ship or made-to-order:
- Ready-to-ship: dispatch usually within a few working days.
- Made-to-order / bespoke: production times vary depending on the design and complexity.
Estimated delivery times will be communicated during checkout or as part of your bespoke quotation.
Is shipping insured?
Yes, we work with reliable couriers and shipments are generally sent with tracking and appropriate insurance. For high-value pieces, additional security measures may be applied.
What is your return or exchange policy?
Our policy may differ between ready-to-ship items and bespoke creations. In general, fully bespoke or personalised pieces are not eligible for standard returns, while ready-to-ship items may be returnable within a certain period if unused and in original condition. Full details are provided in our Terms & Conditions and on the Returns page.
Do you offer warranty and aftercare?
Yes. Our jewellery is covered by a warranty against manufacturing defects for a defined period from the date of purchase. This does not cover normal wear and tear, accidental damage or improper use. We can also assist with cleaning, polishing, resizing and maintenance services for a fee, depending on the work required.
How should I care for my Nova Fine Jewellery piece?
To keep your jewel beautiful over time, we recommend:
- removing it before sports, heavy work or using aggressive chemicals;
- storing it separately in a soft pouch or box to avoid scratches;
- cleaning it gently with lukewarm water, mild soap and a soft brush;
- having settings and prongs checked periodically if you wear it every day.
How can I contact you for a bespoke project?
You can reach us through the contact form on our website, by email or via our social channels. Please share as many details as possible: type of jewel, preferred metal, stone (lab-grown or natural), approximate carat weight, deadline and budget. We will reply with ideas, indicative prices and the next steps to create your piece.
